What a check costs: the price ladder
Each check is $2.50 or less when we find the insurance, and $0 when we can't find it.

Checks are billed separately from your plan, once a month, on a ladder that steps down as your office runs more of them. You see two charges a month: one for your plan, and one for your checks.
Your first 100 checks are $2.50 each. Checks after that cost less. The ladder starts over every month.

Your first 100 checks are $2.50 each. Checks after that cost less. The ladder starts over every month.
An example: 120 checks in one month
100 × $2.50 + 20 × $2.25 = $295. Billed once a month, separate from your plan.
$0 when we can't find the insurance
A check that comes back not found is free, as long as every required box on the patient's card was filled in when you ran it: legal name, date of birth, home address, and either an SSN or a member ID and carrier. For a dependent, the policyholder's name, date of birth, and relationship to the patient are required too. A bulk list highlights any blank required box in red before it runs, so you can fill it in first.
Good to know
No processing fees. Sales tax is added where a state requires it.
