How Valian works alongside Ortho2 Edge
Ortho2 Edge is built by Ortho2 and runs as cloud or server. Practices that run it are usually in orthodontics. Edge Cloud and Edge cover most of Ortho2's installed base. Valian sits on top of it: nothing is replaced, nothing is migrated, and your team keeps charting and billing in Ortho2 Edge exactly as it does today.
How the direct Ortho2 Edge connection will work
Practices running the cloud version of Ortho2 Edge connect with the credentials they already sign in with. Practices running Ortho2 Edge on a machine in the office use a small secure connector, installed on that machine in one short scheduled session. Your office manager confirms which version you are on during onboarding, and working that out is our job rather than theirs.
Going live with Ortho2 Edge
You do not have to wait for the connection to be finished before Amy starts working. Once your existing phone number forwards to her, she answers every call and text and captures what each patient needs. What she cannot do until this connection ships is write the appointment into Ortho2 Edge herself, so your team enters those bookings from the details she captures. Your number stays yours, and patients keep calling the number they have always called.
