Yes. Part B covers a seasonal flu vaccine with no deductible and no coinsurance when the provider accepts assignment. Medicare wants G0008 for the administration instead of 90471, and it does not pay the S9088 or 99051 add-ons.
Can we bill an office visit on the same day as the shot?
Only when the visit has its own documented reason, separate from the vaccine, with modifier 25 on the visit. A nurse only vaccine encounter does not support a full visit code.
How often will a plan pay for a flu vaccine?
Most plans follow the one dose per season rule for adults, and young children getting a first flu vaccine may need two doses. Anything outside that usually denies on a frequency limit.
