Syncing your procedure codes and fees
Your service list in Settings › Services is your codes and your fees. Your codes fill in Coverage by category on every result, and your fees are what Build procedures quotes. An import asks whether to add to your list or replace it.

Your service list is the procedures you do, each with its code and your fee. Everything on a result is built off it:
- Coverage by category lists your codes under preventive, basic, major and orthodontic care, with what the plan pays for each.
- Build procedures quotes your fees when you price a treatment.
Open Settings, then Services.
Your first codes
Until your office saves its first codes, Settings › Services asks What do you check coverage for? Checks can't run until your codes and your carriers are saved.
- Pick them here adds the usual codes for your specialty. Your specialty starts on the one the national NPI registry shows for your NPI. Change it under Your specialty to get that specialty's usual codes.
- Under Your fees, type your price for each code, or remove a code with its ✕. Add more with the search box, Quick add, or Add a procedure code.
- Press Save codes. It stays off until every code has a price.
Already have your codes and prices in a spreadsheet? Choose Upload your fee schedule instead. The steps are below.
After that first save, Settings › Services shows your full service table: On, Code, Service, Category and Fee.
Import your fee schedule
- Export your fee schedule from your practice software, or use our template (Download the template). Each row needs a code and a fee.
- In your service table, click Import from a file, then drag your file onto Drop your services file (or click to choose it). On the first-codes screen, choose Upload your fee schedule and drop it in the box. CSV and XLSX files work. We read your own column names.
- Choose what to do with the codes in your file:
- Add them to your list keeps your services and adds the new ones. A code in both takes your file's price.
- Use only these clears your list. Only the services in your file stay.
- Check the list. We fill in each service's name and category from its code.
- Finish with the button at the bottom: Add N services to your list, or Replace menu with N services. On the first-codes screen, press Save codes.
Note
Use only these removes every service that is not in your file. Before you confirm, the window says so: "This replaces all N current services with the N above." Nothing changes until you pick one of the two.
Add one service
Click + Add service, type the procedure code, and we fill in the name and the category. Type your fee in Price, then click Add service.
You can also add a code while you price a treatment. When a code is not on your list yet, type your price and click Save, and it is added here for next time. See Pricing a treatment.
Change a price
Point at the row and click Edit. Type the new price. It saves on its own. Click Done.
Turn a service off, or delete it
- Off: use the switch in the On column. The service comes off every result, but stays on your list so you can turn it back on.
- Delete: point at the row and click Delete. It comes off your list and so does its fee.
Do I need to run checks again after I change codes?
No. The carrier answers by category, and we never send your codes on a check. Your codes and fees are read when you open a result, so a patient checked last week shows a code you added today.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a code in Build procedures say "Not in your services" or "No price yet"? "Not in your services" means the code is not on your list. "No price yet" means it is on your list without a fee. Either way, type your price right there and click Save. Until it has a price, that code is left out of what the patient pays.
My practice software's export has extra columns. That is fine. Columns we don't use are ignored, and the review lists them.
